The Liaison Pilot wing was established September 4, 1942 and did not last evry long. The pilots were not part of the Army Air Force but rather assigned to being artillery spoters in aircraft such as the L-4 and other aircraft less than 190 HP. The wings were granetd to both Officers and Enlisted, but the enlished pilots did not last long as more officers came into the AAF.
