The years between the wars, the years of barn storming, air races, and one achievment after another. But it was the dark clouds of a coming war, resulting in a the build up of the aircraft industry and one new machine after another.

The end of WWII resulted in Pilots with nothing to do, so they barnstormed, the Air Service cut back and slowly did research and raced for new records.

On October 14, 1921 the Airship Pilot Badge was established and abolished on February 20, 1940. Only 150 men were awaraded this badge, yet 6 or 7 badge known designs exist.
