This is a very unusual design for the PT Boats insignia. It was one made by Herreshoff a US yacht builder that build about 100 PT boats between 1940 and 1944 in Bristol, Rhode Island. The PT boats they made were based on the Vosper design and sold to Britain and Russia; none went to the US Navy.
