Actually it is not a wing but a Qualification Badge but that is used to help people find it on eBay. This is a museum quality reproduction of the famous WWII Navy Submarine wing badge in sterling silver. It has a pin back just as the original badge and is hallmarked SS224. This is a very nice version of the submarine badge. The SS224 on the back means the man qualified aboard the USS Cod SS 224. The USS Cod is on display in Cleveland Ohio. This would have been un-offcial in WWII. Metal enlisted sub badges did not become authorized until the 1950’s. Only about 1 in 100 qualify to be on a sub. Here is a chance to have one until an original comes along.
