On 29 July 1942 the Navy announced this wing for Naval Flight Surgeons. What is very interesting was a requirement that the wing be of a dull finish in gold with a silver acorn. This is a museum quality reproduction of the Meyer design in Sterling Silver with a 24 karat gold plate. This wing is 2 3/4 inches with a pin back.
