Technical Observer Badge Wing. In World War II a Pilot or Balloon Pilot who was certified by their Commanding Officer as qualified by experience and ability to perform technical observation duty could be awarded these wings. The rating was established on March 23, 1940 and the wing was established on November 10, 1941 and because it was a higher rating than a Pilot not many must have been awarded. This is a sterling silver museum quality reproduction of  3 inch British made wing with British designed pin back.
