The Johnson Flying Service started out in 1926 to teach others how to fly by Bob Johnson. In the 1940’s they were the first to have smoke jumpers, jump from an aircraft and to transport smoke jumpers using Ford Tri-Motors. During WWII they trained over 4000 pilots were listed as a small supplemental carrier out of Missoula, Montana they also flew DC-3’s. In 1969 the last two Tri-Motors were sold and replaced with Twin Otters. They were purchased in 1975 by Evergreen International know for having flown Helicopters in Vietnam for oil companies. This is a very rare wing not found in many collections and it does have a very distinctive design. This is a museum quality reproduction in sterling silver and it gives you a chance to own one until maybe a real one comes along. Also this is a heavy wing at 2/3 of an ounce and notice they used screw backs. They were very proud of being form Montana and that’s no Bull.
