This is a museum quality 3-inch reproduction made in Sterling Silver with lots of detail and a pin back. This wing was established as the 1920 Balloon Observer and then on Feb. 20, 1940 it was designated as the Balloon Pilot. The wing was awarded to a balloon pilot who was also qualified as a sharpshooter or expert aerial gunner, certified for conducting observation duties, assigned as an aircraft observer while a member in a balloon combat crew or a graduate of the AAF Tactical School with at least six years as a rated pilot.
